01 / The format

One climb,
eight stations

You run, you work, you run again. Eight stations with a kilometre between each one, so eight kilometres of running on top of everything else. Nobody stands around, and the clock does not stop until you cross the line.

A full race simulation, chip timed and judged on every station. If you have trained for this format, you know the shape of the day.

02 / Two days

Friday night,
Saturday all day

Friday from 6:30pm. Racing under lights. Fewer heats, colder air, and a different atmosphere entirely to a daytime race. If you have only ever raced in the morning, do this one.

Saturday, all day. Full race day, heats from morning through to evening, and the afterparty when it is done. Most of the field races Saturday and most of the noise is Saturday.

Pick your day when you enter.

03 / Is this for you

Probably, yes

The people who finish this are not who you would guess. The field has triathletes in it and it has people who have never entered anything. Some train six days a week. Plenty train three.

What they have in common is that they had all run before. Not far and not fast, but the running is what catches people out. Eight kilometres is eight kilometres, whatever else is happening. If you can cover 5k without stopping, you can finish the Open division. Everything else you can learn on the day.

If you have raced this format before, you already know whether you want Pro. If you are asking, take Open. Nobody has ever regretted finishing strong in Open.
